Day 161: Project 365

The other day I was a friend's house sitting by the pool and eating pizza. I looked down and saw this little guy on my shirt. I think he was scared or something because barely moved! My friend Christina requested a picture of a ladybug for my blog. I figured I'd never get one because I'm not outside enough, but here's one. It's a little blurry, but still a lady bug. Well, and a can of grape soda.

Day 160: Project 365

I've missed my little corner of the world.

I've fallen so far behind on my project because my laptop is broken and I'm too scared to open it up and turn it on. The screen has been wobbly for some time now and two weekends ago, I opened it up and it piece snapped off and went flying. I'm sure it's still usable, but I really don't want to make it worse. Unless I need to get something off the computer, or get an aching to use Photoshop or InDesign, I'll be using Sam's laptop. He was nice enough to set up my own account on his computer. I knew he was a keeper. Right now, I just don't have the money to get it repaired. I have a feeling Dell screwed up with this computer model because a friend of mine has the same kind and her's is doing the same thing pretty much.

For some reason, Sam's computer won't let me bluetooth from my phone, so it's a little harder to get pictures from there to here. I decided to just sync my phone with my email account so I can send myself pictures. It's kind of annoying though because I'm pretty sure that every time I get an email, it's going to notify me on my phone. I enjoy being connected with my smart phone, but I don't want to be that connected.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to get it fixed by the end of July since I don't get paid until July. Oh yes, I get paid. I have a job, and I'm really enjoying it! It's nice to have somewhere to be every morning. It's nice to interact with other people. I love learning about something new. All I know is journalism, english and photography so it's nice to be somewhere completely out of my comfort zone.

I'm working in an insurance office, and it's totally not where I expected to be, but I'm glad I'm there. The only downside is that I'm only part-time, but I'm praying that it'll eventually turn into full-time.

Sorry for the weird transition from laptop to job, but I'm just happy to finally have a job after months of searching and I wanted to share my joy with you.

God is faithful.
And I better not see any comments about Macs being better!

Day 159: 365 Project

Us girls gotta stick together! Well, we're the three girls in our Monday night Bible study and these are our toes. I realized I don't have any feet pictures in my 365 Project and that's just a shame. I know its' not really a shame, but it sure is fun!

Plus, we all have nicely painted toe nails too!

Here's Sharon and Charlene... *clinks invisible glass*

Day 158: 365 Project

For the most part, today was nice and sunny. We went to help Sharon move a chair from her truck into her apartment, and that's when we noticed dark clouds starting to roll in. We went to Savemart and Wendys, came home and turned on The Blind Side. All of a sudden we saw lightening, heard thunder over and over and over again, then it just started pouring.

We decided to go outside to see the rain. Even the hallway that leads up to our apartment was soaked and it never is when it rains! Who would have thought that one of the worst storms of the year would be in June!? I love it! Just worries me some because I'm pretty sure that it's going to be a really hot summer. I just hope it doesn't last until November like last year.

Sorry. Tangent. Anyway, Sam decided he wanted to go out into the rain. He came back in pretty soaked! It was funny though. I was inside the hallway and the camera was still getting sprinkled on.

Happy June!

Day 157: 365 Project

Today, Sam and I saw an unusual sight for Fresno (at least we've never seen it before). On Blackstone and Nees we spotted a man on a Unicycle crossing the street. I love Fresno! 'Nough said.

Day 156: 365 Project

I finally cleaned all the sand off the shells and rocks we got when we were in Morro Bay in April. Once they dry, I'm going to put them into this cute wooden centerpiece thing that I got in the dollar section at Target a few years ago, then I'm going to put a candle in the middle of it. I'm excited about it.

I love Morro Bay because it's the only beach I can think of where I can find shells and rocks on the beach. All other beaches seem to have is seaweed and dead jellyfishes, but walking along the shore at Morro Bay, I always find beautiful rocks and shells. We even found a whole sand dollar (it's on the top left in the picture)! I was so excited.

On another note, related to cleaning, I'm working on cleaning out the extra bedroom that's currently being used as a storage room. I made a huge dent in it the other day! It looks worse than it did before, but it's on its way to being a room again. I can't wait! I'm really motivated to get it cleaned out to find things that I don't want anymore, partly because it frees up more space, but mostly because my mom is having a yard sale next weekend and I want to find every possible thing we can get rid of to get some extra cash!

Also, I'm actually ahead on my 365 project. On my Memorial Day post, I posted a couple extra pictures (because I couldn't decide which ones to cut), so I'm ahead! It's nice because I have a little leeway if I'm unable to post one day.

Happy Friday-ing.

Day 155: 365 Project

See, this is why I can't own nice things.

I guess when I parked this morning after taking Sami to school, getting gas and grabbing Starbucks, I parked too close to the red pole. Sam forgot his wallet at home, so I was leaving to take him his wallet at work. I was pulling out and I hear my car scratching up against the pole. I knew the side of my car would be red. I was pretty upset, but by the time I got to AMI, I was over it. I actually think it looks pretty cool! It's my "racing stripe!"

I still might try to take some of it off tomorrow. We'll see. It'll just give my car more character. Let me tell you though, my car has a whole lot of character at this point. I still wouldn't trade it in for a better model! And that's not just because I don't do well with change...

Oh, Happy Day.

Day 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153 & 154: 365 Project

We had a relaxing, eventful Memorial Day weekend. The first part was mostly just relaxing, then on Monday we went to Monterey for the day. It was good to get away to enjoy nice weather and good shrimp.

First of all, thank you to the men who have served and those who are currently serving. Your dedication to our country is very much appreciated.

On Sunday after church, Sam and I took advantage of the BBQ we have by the pool. It's the first time we've used it, and let me tell you, I wish we would have used it sooner! I love BBQ burgers. It was Sam's first time using a BBQ, and he did a great job!

And as you can tell from Sam's crazy hair, it was super windy outside.

On Monday we decided to get away for the day. I used some of the graduation money I got, so I guess it could be called a "graduation trip." It was a rather relaxing day, we left around 10 a.m. or so. Stopped off in Los Banos for some coffee and a snack. Got to Monterey and went to Bubba Gumps. Shrimp was so yummy! Shrimp is pretty much the only kind of fish I really enjoy. We walked along Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. We stopped by Ghiradelli and got a sundae because I'm pretty sure it's some sort of sin not to. Okay, not really, but their chocolate is just too good to pass up. We got an espresso dark chocolate sundae. It was really good. Next time, I'm getting the peanut butter sundae.

Whenever I go somewhere, my "thing" to get as a souvenir is usually a T-shirt, but recently, my more cheaper choice is those squished pennies. I got one from Bubba Gumps and one that has Monterey, Ca with penguins on it.

Little boat called The Little Mermaid!!! Love it!

Hmm.. Helmet (Safety First!) or really bad bowl cut? You be the judge.

Be careful, mister! That dogs poo is on fire! Okay, well, it's actually most likely grass. Not buying it though because there wasn't any grass in the area. It has to be fire!

Do you see the cute sea otter poking its head out? We saw a bunch of these little guys!

The weather was perfect and it wasn't too busy for being Memorial Day. It was a nice, quick getaway. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as well!

We also rented No Strings Attached, The Social Network and Due Date because I had codes that needed to be used before today. Yay for practically free movies! I paid $1 for free movie codes on Groupon (Or was it LivingSocial?). Worth it!

Happy June! Enjoy this wonderful weather before it gets too hot!
