Mister Buble Was All Kinds of Wonderful

Well, two weeks ago, Sam and I spent our Sunday night celebrating our year anniversary (which was on the 7th),  enjoying some great entertainment from Michael Buble.

We even got all nice and dressed up.

We first saw Michael Buble in 2008 at the Savemart Center. I have never enjoyed myself at a concert more. He not only has a wonderful voice, but he's just a great entertainer. He never fails to include his audience in the show and make us laugh.

Naturally 7 was there again with him. They were just as amazing as the last time we saw them. If you don't know who they are, look them up. Seriously. They're a great Acapella group. And I know "Acapella" doesn't want to make anyone rush out and buy the cd immediately, but they make the sounds of the instruments. You know, drums, guitar, bass, etc.

Unfortunately, we were in the very back, but we were in the building and that's all that matters. Sam says we're going to have a Michael Buble fund so we can get the best seats for when he comes back to Fresno. I like this fund!

Unfortunately, Sam and I missed some of Naturally 7 because of traffic.
There was a small intermission between Naturally 7 and Michael Buble.

My nose looks so strange!

Michael Buble opened up the best song he could have possibly chosen -- Cry Me A River. His version of that song is epic, and I don't use that word lightly.

Sorry it's super blurry. I was so excited, I didn't take much time to focus. Still worth a listen though.

I really love this picture. Yeah, it's blurry and bright, but I made it black and white and threw on a filter. I think it looks really neat.

There were some crazy awesome solos in the show too.

He was explaining how the pianist and himself practice his voice together. He started singing some Journey, then some Aladdin. And it gets better -- He really becomes Canadian.

Then he busted out some crazy Michael Jackson dance moves. Good stuff!

Probably half-way through the show, he came into the crowd and made his way to the B-Stage where he spent the majority of the concert.

Naturally 7 joined him on the B-Stage. He even did "Home" with only the acoustic guitar. It was really awesome.

Enjoy the view, ladies?

Look at all the Bubles!

I love all the shining lights in this one.

The never-ending screen!

Confetti!!!

Another reason why I love Michael Buble: He always personalizes the show to each place he goes, even in the simple things.

Overall? It was fantastic. Can't wait until he comes to visit again!

Day 232, 233, 234, 235, 236, 237 & 238: 365 Project

Wednesday night I found out that Carolina Liar was doing an Unplugged show at Twist the following evening. Not only were they going to be in Fresno, but the show was free. I really enjoy their music and the fact that they formed in Sweden and everyone in the band is from there besides the Carolina-raised singer. Plus, the night of the show I saw that the singer is really short -- always a good sign in my eyes.

I've loved Carolina Liar since the moment I saw them on 90210 a couple years ago. Yes, 90210 is my guilty pleasure. Who doesn't love watching rich people cause their drama?

Anyway, they were great! Unfortunately, they had a short set with only about six song or so. They did play my favorite songs though. They also played some songs from their upcoming album (September release), and all those songs were terrific. Can't wait for that album!

Plus, we ran into some friends I went to high school with so the evening was even more interestingly entertaining.

The lighting was really bad at the show though. Couldn't decent pictures because all the lighting was faced toward the ground instead of their faces. A little weird.

I'm just preparing you for the massive blog post with a ton of pictures from Michael Buble.
Stay tuned.

Day 231: 365 Project

Last night Sam and I went to River Park for a little while. We went to Borders to check out the deals. I became mayor of Borders on FourSquare, by the way. Hopefully I can keep it, so once they close down, I'll be mayor forever. I know it's completely lame, but it's just a silly goal. Anyway, we got a few books. I've decided to read some Chuck Klosterman. He sounds like an interesting author, and I'm sure I'll like his stuff. I'm excited about reading his first book.

The sky last night was beautiful before the sun set. I wish I had my camera, but I snapped a shot with my phone.

Anniversary Sunday

It's been more of a two-week anniversary. I'm all for tons of celebrating. We say the celebrating comes to a close after the Michael Buble concert on Sunday night. Well, maybe. We decided to not really go anywhere for our anniversary, but sometime next month we plan to get away for a couple days.

Week started out with me making Sam a giant funfetti cookie! It was pretty tasty. :)

On Friday after work, I came home to a note in our bathroom. Partly sweet, but mostly him mocking me for always getting mad at him for leaving Q-tips everywhere.

Friday night, we started our Anniversary festivities by going over to Riverpark. We ended up eating dinner at Famous Dave's. I love me some ribs.

Sunday, which marked a year since we made vows to each other, started out with Church. It was followed by lunch at Irene's. Pretty sure that was the best Anniversary Lunch choice ever!

We came home and I continued to work on my gift for him (more on this later).
He wasn't telling me what we were going to do. I'm not much for being surprised. The anticipation gives me anxiety. I know, I'm strange.

Well, due to unforeseen events, Sam had to alter his plans a tad. Sharon was supposed to take me away to distract me while he fancied up the kitchen and cooked me dinner. Well, unfortunately on her way home from Porterville, she got a flat tire (so glad she's okay though!!). Sam text Angelica, and got lucky because she was free. Sam was able to get rid of me.

We started at Borders then we made our way over to Kwirkworld. That was when the crazy fun began.

I'll take one hamburger and hot dog, please! Some random guy offered to take a picture of Angelica's weiner. That was all kinds of awkward.

After Adventures in Kwirkworld, we sat in Teazer and enjoyed cool wonderfulness.

Then we decided to go where no man has gone before. Well, at least the woman driving the car. I've never taken my car through an automatic car wash. It's intimidating. Pretty sure the employees are still laughing at us.

Here we are getting sudded-up.

A very scared Angelica.

For some reason, my phone wasn't focusing. I think this shows the severity of the situation though.

Then we saw it.. YES... the end was in sight. Light.

Finally, what's a car wash without some good ol' vacuuming.

Sam still wasn't ready for us, so we procrastinated even more. We went over to Ross and walked around for a bit. Sam was finally ready for me at around 8:30. We headed back to the apartment, and she dropped me off.

He made me dinner! And spiffed up the place! He made Garlic Noodles with chicken, Asparagus and bread. It was tasty!

He also bought me two beautiful flower bouquets and put them together!

This is my favorite wine... well, the only kind I like.

We decided to bust out the wedding cake and partake of some! The icing was freezer burnt, but the cake was delicious, especially for sitting in a freezer for the past year. We enjoyed it. We even took it to Bible Study on Monday night to share with some friends.

We ended up creating a cave by eating the cake and not the frosting.

After dinner, we exchanged gifts. He made me a wonderfully sweet and hilarious video. He said some super sweet things, the video had several pictures of us and he put the videos from the cruise on it. I so hated him filming us while we were out and about on the ship or in Mexico, but I'm glad he did. The video are hilarious because I'm just so apathetic about him videotaping.

And I made him a scrapbook of our first year together as a married couple. Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but it totally turned out better than what I thought it would. Each page is a piece of a cereal box. I got the idea from here: http://www.thedatingdivas.com/ . I just altered their idea and created it into something of my own. It was a lot of fun together.

Here's each page from beginning to end:

The next two pages are our vows to each other.

The words on this page are cut out of Carnival Cruise Line's itineraries and what not.

Yes, we played Bingo, and lost every time.

We love to get caramel apples at the beach.

Princess LOVES Sam... Hence "The Other Woman" And whenever Sam takes off his wedding ring and spins it on the table, I always say that he's practicing not loving me.

Had to add a graduation day page. Couldn't have crossed this finish line without him!

This is our first anniversary together.

The back of the book.

This was a crazy great anniversary. It's been a great year. We've had our way ups and way downs, but I wouldn't want to take this adventure with anyone else.
